Home Interior Trends of 2024
November 08 2024 – Fritz + Lloyd
With the end of 2024 approaching, it’s the perfect time to reflect on some of the standout interior design trends we saw shape our homes this year.
Spa-Like Bathrooms
This year, we saw the rise of spa-inspired bathrooms designed for relaxation and rejuvenation. Natural materials like stone, wood, and soft lighting helped transform bathrooms into personal wellness retreats. Freestanding tubs, rainfall showers, and minimalist fixtures all contributed to creating tranquility spaces.
Sculptural Lighting
Sculptural lighting fixtures became more than just functional pieces—they became works of art. From bold chandeliers to minimalist pendant lights with eye-catching shapes, these statement pieces added character and elegance to every room, blending aesthetics and utility seamlessly.
Quiet Luxury
2024 embraced the philosophy of “quiet luxury,” where quality and craftsmanship speak louder than flashy designs. Homes were filled with natural, luxurious materials like marble, linen, and cashmere. Understated color palettes, paired with finely made furniture, created spaces that were sophistication through simplicity. This trend is all about appreciating timeless beauty in a calm, refined setting.
Oak is Back
But this isn’t the golden oak of the 90’s! We’ve been seeing more beautiful linear grain white oak stained with browns & grays. Mixing oak with other textures is also encouraged to create a balanced, layered look. Oak’s versatility makes it suitable for both traditional and contemporary spaces.
Warm, Earth Tones
We've seen a shift this year from cool tones to warm and we think it will continue into 2025. Hues like terracotta, deep ochre, soft browns, and olive greens create a sense of comfort. Paired with natural textures like wood and leather, these tones made homes feel grounded and soothing—perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere in any room.
Whether you embraced one or all of these design elements in your space, they each added something special to the way we live in our homes. I think we'll continue to see these design trends carry forward into the coming year. Which one is your favorite?
