Imagine stepping into a room where every detail reflects your unique vision—colors, textures, and shapes working in harmony. A mood board is your first step in turning that dream into reality. Here is what you can expect in a mood board from F+L.

Mood boards play a major role within your home renovation or new construction. This will be the base layer to the rest of the design process and will be used consistently throughout your design process.

WHAT ARE THE KEY ELEMENTS TO INCLUDE TO REFLECT THE CLIENT'S LIFESTYLE AND AESTHETIC PREFERENCES?

It varies, but many times we start from the ground up and determine what things the client feels strongly about like: flooring, trim, cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures, tile, paint colors, light fixtures, ceiling details, etc. We don't typically include every detail of a room, but we try to make sure we have anything that is a strong desire that could drive the design.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR SELECTING DIGITAL VS. PHYSICAL MOOD BOARDS FOR A PROJECT?

We primarily do digital mood boards, but many times we have physical samples to support the images that we're showing. Everything is so accessible online and through social media, so a digital board is likely the best and easiest place to start for most people.
