LAKE HOUSE PROJECT
New Construction | Full Service Interior Design + Furnishings | 2025
Natural, planned separation for living and activities
This home was designed so that every part of daily life has its own place. Rather than relying on walls alone, we used thoughtful zoning to create a natural separation between spaces for relaxing, dining, entertaining, and play. Changes in ceiling treatment, furniture groupings, rugs, and lighting quietly define each area while keeping sightlines open and conversation easy. Family members can enjoy different activities at the same time without feeling disconnected, and when everyone comes together, the spaces flow into one another effortlessly. The result is a layout that feels organized and intuitive, with room for everything the household loves to do.
Custom angles and pie-shaped rooms highlighting the lake view
The architecture of this home takes full advantage of its setting. Custom angles and pie-shaped rooms fan outward toward the water, opening up broad, sweeping views of the lake from multiple vantage points. These unique geometries required careful planning, and we tailored the furniture layouts, built-ins, and finishes to suit each distinctive shape. Seating is oriented to the view, window treatments are kept light and minimal, and the color palette is calm and natural so the landscape remains the star. Every room offers a slightly different perspective on the lake, making the water feel like a constant companion throughout the day.
Main level “Lake Room” featured with fully wood-planked walls and ceilings
The Lake Room is the signature space of the home. Wrapped entirely in wood planks on the walls and ceiling, it has the warm, enveloping feel of a classic lakeside retreat, elevated with a modern, refined touch. The continuous wood creates rich texture and depth, and its natural grain and tone glow throughout the day as the light shifts over the water. We layered in comfortable seating, soft textiles, and understated lighting to keep the room cozy and inviting, whether it’s used for morning coffee, a card game, or a quiet evening watching the sunset. It’s a room that invites guests to slow down and stay awhile.
